Week Six: Video Killed the Written Word

When it comes to trends on social media, video is where it’s at. Whether you’re live streaming, creating a Instagram (or Facebook or Snapchat) Story,  posting a clip, or experimenting with 360 videos,  video consistently gets more engagment than any other type of content.

When sharing videos to Facebook, it’s important to remember that Facebook’s algorithm gives preference to native content. This means videos posted via links to other platforms, such as YouTube, will not see the same organic reach and engagment as native videos. Facebook has also decided that non-native videos will appear as a link, while native videos come up in full view, and automatically begin playing.
